Cork City has a fairly big skating scene so you should have no problem. Also, there are both an indoor and outdoor skateparks in the city centre

The outdoor skatepark is next to Fitzgerald's Park, check the map here:

I've seen a few people around town with longboards, but I'm not sure how easy/trouble-free it is. Some areas of pavement may not be up to it, but for the large part you should be OK.
