Hello I need to have my signature on a document attestated by a notary public, commissioner for oaths or a solicitor.

I would like to know what is the fee I can expect for this service?
And is there likely to be much difference between what different solicitors are charging?

    Thanks in advance.
    Dan.

Depends on how you sign it. Should be 10 euro but a notary might charge 130. if you sign Dan of the family 133269 the sky is the limit.

    Depends on the document.

If a statutory declaration, your declaration can be taken by a Peace Commissoner - no charge.

If an affidavit it may be sworn before a commissioner for oaths or a practising solicitor. Charge €10 plus €2 for each document ( or "exhibit" ) attached.

SOme documents have to be executed before a Notary Public - charges vary, but are much more than €10.

In all cases if you are not personally known to the person dealing with the document you will have to bring someone who is personally known to whoever is dealing with the document.

Not necessary to have someone with you, you can bring photo ID such as a passport which they will use to identify you. they will usually pen this into the Jurat.
