RIP-OFF Irish Rail!

While this may seem off topic from usual discussions near I feel it is a very relevant point and I know many people who would not miss a match who are simply not going this year over the costs of getting to Dublin and ticket prices. Kilkenny County Board gave back several hundred tickets for their final and Kerry fans are feeling the pinch too.

I think Irish Rail are a disgrace, charging people €75 to travel to Dublin for the game on Sunday! Back a few years ago I remember travelling for between €40 and €50 to games.

We are in an economic depression and this overpaid unionised monopoly continues to shaft us the travelling public in Kerry. Tourists getting off planes in Dublin where they paid maybe €50 to travel in from some far flung corner of Europe then to discover the price they will have to pay to travel down to Kerry with the bloated behemoth of state waste.

The GAA and Croke Park should denounce CIE for their constant rip-off of Kerry people travelling by train. And if Kerry win they should fly our lads down to Farranfore and not give CIE a penny and the way they are ripping off GAA supporters here.

Despite their charging the company swallows of millions in state aid as they eternally loss making. I for one would not be paying €75 to them

This has nothing to do with the GAA. There's a Commuting & Transport forum here.
