    Hello,

I am loking for a priest to carry out a christening in a tiny private chapel in galway- its not a parish church. Im having a hard time finding one as the rules seem to be that you need to get christened in your parish church :( (Mhm - whay about people that move around a lot?). Does anyone know of a flexible galway priest that would be willing to do this for us?

    Thanks!:)

Don't name any priest here, please PM OP instead.

If you use the word "baptised", ie the name of the sacrament you actually want for the person involved, you might stand a better chance of finding someone willing to the job.

Also doing some research about what it means to make someone part of a church community, so you can convince any priest that you ask to do the job that you mean what you're asking for.

Christenings tend to be mass affairs these days - multiple children being baptised in one go. There aren't as many priests to do these things as there once was.

Good point, and the demographics are only just starting to kick in. Give it ten years, and you'll be lucky to find one for funerals.

If anyone's looking for a business opportunity, professional celebrant (namings, unionings, funerals) has got to be a growth industry in this country.
