    Hey, I was wondering if you apply for the SAF do you have to wait ages for your application to be accepted or is it done there and then?

    I just need money for like 4 weeks because i'm stuck waiting for my Maintenance Grant and i'm totally dependant on that.. and my father can't afford to give me money as he's paying back a loan he took out to pay my accomodation!

    Will they be able to help straight away or could I be waiting weeks/months?

    I was told to post it in the forum of the university that i'm going to, as each university have their own ways of dealing with it.. so I was hoping somebody from DCU can answer the question!

    I'm trying to get this myself because I can't cover registration fees and apparently its only to cover books etc not registration or education fees!

    I have been told that it is not for fees. As above, books, travel expenses, generally small essentials.

    So how does one go about applying for this? I never heard of it til I saw this thread, and if I can I am definitely going to apply because I need all the help I can get =/
