Moving JSA from one office to the next will Rent Allowance transfer automatically?

Hi i have moved from D6 to D8 and successfully moved my job seekers benefit. I received the letter telling me my next payment is this week. I was on Rent Allowance in D6. Will they inform the Rent Allowance folk about my move or do i have to re apply for that again?

And if i do is it just a case of transferring the claim or do i have re apply again?

Would i get in trouble for not informing them of my move? I thought the move would of been automatic with the JSB but i received a rent allowance payment in the post office today but i think that was from last week.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers.

No its not automatic and your rent claim may in fact be closed at this stage.

You moved without informing the CWO so once they see your address is changed they could close your claim.
    Contact your local CWO ASAP.

You need to contact your CWO as a matter of urgency.

And yes, there would be trouble if you did not inform them and they found out.

You have to tell the CWO, ideally before you moved. Sort this out immediately, as this could be viewed as claiming rent supplement for a residence where you don't live aka fraud.

You need to re-apply for rent supplement at your new address.
