I really like the Kilkenny Ormonde hotel, stayed there last year and really enjoyed it, clean rooms, friendly staff and reasonable rates. Food was also nice. I'm hoping to go back later in the year.

Cavan Crystal hotel, the restaurant is simply one of the best I've eaten in in the country, with so many wonderful little touches, and the residents bar is always good fun, anywhere that lets you serve yourself is A1 in my books :p

The Shangri La hotel in Sydney. We were on honeymoon and got bumped up to one of the fancier suites. From our bedroom window we had a view over the harbour bridge and from the living room we could see the Opera house. The bar at the top was amazing at night time as all of Sydney harbour lit up. We were a short walk to all the usual Sydney attractions and had great restaurants and bars nearby. It was in the famous 'Rocks' districk so plenty of things to keep us entertained, wined and dined.
When I win the lotto I'll be going back.

The G in Galway. The rooms, the spa and the food are all great. What makes it though is the staff. These days you're doing well in some places if you're not scowled at, but in The G they go way beyond the call of duty.

Crowne Plaze in Joburg always gives me great memories. I used to go there a lot when I was younger. We would always stop there when travelling to SA.
I also got caught in a lift with a few players from teh Canterbury Crusaders there when I was about 6. Always a great story to tell!

:) Just back from stockholm where we stayed in the Raddison Blu Royal Viking which was magic and the wee lad (2yr) was with us and the staff pampered him no end - any hotel that takes you away from the hum drum of life and makes your stay special is magic to me!

The Killiney Park hotel is absolutely gorgeous and all of the staff are super friendly. When I fancy a break for a weekend away (that's close to home) I go to the Killiney Park to relax.

The rates can be quite reasonable at times too.
