Our own LCD was 16th overall in first in AG in IM Wisconsin yesterday. 1:11 swim, 4:50 bike (better than most pros) and then a 3:31 run. He was in top 10 for a while on the run but hydration issues let him down (lost 12lbs from pre race weigh in to post race).

16th overall and 1st in AG - a damn good result.

    Chapeau, Liam, chapeau.

    Savage stuff. Well done Liam.

Is he alright? 12lbs sounds like a lot of body fluids to lose.

Well i got a text at 5am from him telling me he just saw the last finisher and that telling me I was a b0ll0cks so assuming based on that he is fine :)

Nice one and congrats Liam! Wow 12lbs is a lot, fair play for such a gutsy run in the circumsances. I'd be interested to learn more about the hydration issues that lead to a 12lb weight loss

Savage stuff. Friend of mine completed an ironman recently, I must say I was completely ignorant as to what was a good performance. Seeing the work he put in (not to mention his natural ability) and comaping his finish time to others I have a new respect for some of the recent performances posted by boardsies here.

nice bit of swimming from him too - what a difference a year makes - kenmare 2010 - under that bridge waiting for a lift.

    Nope. No text speak.

    LCD is the lads username.
IM Moo is the name of the event to those that know it.

Thanks lads, very hard day at the office. There will be a race report soon on the cyclesuperstore.ie

Great race with a really unique transition & if you have done all the European ones is definitely something different. Running up the helix (just like the old ones that use to be at Dublin airport was amazing, crowds 4/5 deep the whole way up). Flying into Chicago & renting a car it's not crazy expensive, is only a 2 hour drive.

I don't believe the 12lbs is exactly accurate as were different scales but same brand. I was still peeing on the run up until about mile 20. Before the race I had been drinking water with High 5 Zero tablets like crazy & peeing every 2/3 hours. On the bike maybe 1.5litres of water & probably 3 plus litres of Powerbar Perform. On run I was grabbing coke & water at every aid station, though I find it hard to drink from those cups on the run.

Also a big thanks to Tunney, every Monday I would run my training plan for the week by him to get a bit of feedback. I'll be round on Saturday to give you a hand with some DIY, I think you mentioned wakk paper stripping?

By the way LCD, Liam Caomhín Dolan

Well done Liam, great racing. Was tracking you the whole way yesterday and was delighted to see it went so well. I just missed your finish line video though!

Great result LCD - are you Kona bound this year (I presume IM WI qualified you for 2012)?

I'd say I added about 12 lbs making my way around Roth this year...

Liam, well done. Great result. Was following you over the evening, thought you were making a push for top 10.

    Some good results analysis here:

3rd best bike split overall?! Just under 2 minutes slower than the fastest and the 2nd fastest looks like he blew up big time.
