I saw somewhere that Martley's do a bus to Dublin and out to U.C.D during term but don't know if it operates on a Sunday. Might want to check with them.

Portlaoise to Heuston ok,and then 145 bus, but thought might be a private company running to ucd on a sunday night from the town.

Yeah they do mon to fri alright but not Sunday. I found one that goes from Portarlington/Monasterevin on Sunday evenings after, thanks, seems to be the nearest one to Portlaoise that goes directly to the college.
