hey guys, i will be replacing a shock bushing shortly and im wondering how do you get the bushing out of the shock? is there some sort of tool for it?

also i want to maintain my pivot bearings, any idea how to remove the bearing from the pivot housing? (as in ive gotten the housing out of the frame but i cant remove the bearing from the housing)

been meaning to ask these questions for a while so any help would be great

why ive seen it done and it aint all that hard, its not like im ripping the guts of a shock apart to service it or anything,

feck sake id be broke if i listened to you and yer bring to a professional every time i wish to do a bit of maintenance

its just a shock bushing and pivot bearings ive taken them out and replaced them with my mechanic before i just cant remember the tools he used

ps should i get a qualified bike cleaner to clean my bike after i roide it as well ;)

No offence Sean,as I love reading your posts. But seriously man, from reading your posts you do seem to have a history of asking questions about fixing even the most basic of things on youre bike.It appears your a little out of your depth and to pay good money to a bike shop to get the job done correct would seem to be the best advice.I know nothing about plumbing,so if I get a leak in my house I call a plumber.Sometimes its just best to man up and pay an expert.

well where is someone meant to start? servicing forks  everything ive asked a question on taking apart/fixing ive done it and put it back together again so i dont see how im out of my depth, was asking advice on what tools are needed for a specific job if i muck it up oh well i wont do it again,

also the presumption that a bike shop can do a better job on my bike is completely dependent on the bike shops in any given area, lbs in tralee dont do mtb's its all road bikes here so the closest shop that i have any confidence in is 30 mins away from where i live which is a pain in the ass for me

its not so much about saving money as to the fact that i like learning how everything on my bikes work and fit together

A bushing tool, like this one:

I'm not exactly sure what you've done there, or how you've done it, but the bearing is a sealed single unit, there's no "housing" as such. Various forms of bearing pullers / presses are available.
