not sure how much of a bargain this is as i haven't shopped much online but boots are doing 50% off on the triumph 4000/5000 models.

the 5000 was RRPing at €213 and the 4000 was RRPing at €174.

I had a look at the argos book and the 5000 was at ~€260 and the 4000 is at ~€200.

also if you're a man and have a lady friend be sure to grab her boots card as you get 4 points for every euro spent on these toothbrushes.

amazon are selling the 4000 for around €82 and the 5000 for around €99, with free delivery. But still that's pretty good price for a bricks and mortar shop.

Good prices for B&M.. but I got the 5000 for £50 in the last Amazon Gold Box.

It's a great toothbrush though.. I really recommend it.

We'll assume that that was just a check up you were in for on Friday so! :D

I have the basic bog standard €20 Braun Oral B electric toothbrush, what do these models do so much better to justify the huge difference in price?

Basq - do you have a link to amazon.co.uk gold box? Can only find the US one online and a quick google isn't helping ...

It wasn't exactly a Gold Box.. it was like a week of quick sales (it was late November last year). A-ha.. it was their Black Friday sale.

Was asking my dentist last week if the Oral B Sonic which HN had reduced to €20 from €40 was worth investing in, he told me not to bother, that I might as well get the triumph as it was far superior - I didn't quiz him on why that was.

Well my hygienist was more than happy with the job the cheap one was doing on my teeth, just wondering how much is to be gained by getting the (much) more expensive one?

+1 for the 5000, got mine in Booths around Christmas two years ago. Wouldn't go back to a manual now... great brush!

Mine was cheaper than the linked price, think it was around €80, was a promotion though... reduced from €160 afaik

I know the 5000 has a separate visual display. Shows how long you have been brushing and displays what part of the mouth to brush at any given time. Lets you know if you are brushing too hard as well.

It's the power of the thing that sets it apart from the rest... my dentist said anything less than 4000 series is a waste of money, also the only ones with the British dental health foundation stamp of approval is the 4000+
