Whats the story with being absent in college and you are also receiving a grant?
As the grant comes in installments throughout the year would they cut off a payment if you missed too many days. Are you allowed to miss a few days a month due to illness etc?

A lot of talk over this - it depends on the college. Some colleges will clamp down hard on the grant payments if they think you are skiving off, others don't have the same view on it. Best thing to do is take sick notes in when you can (they cover you for exams or C.A's that you miss) and try not to miss too many days for no reason. Most colleges put a lot of emphasis on C.A and if you miss too many days, you could be looking at a fail before you even sit the exams, never mind the grant :)

Some colleges track attendance - some don't

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
