Is it possible to get a small wind turbine to put on a chimney. I only want to power garden lights and a pond pump from it, cant find much info about domestic turbines, I was in at the self build show yesterday and could find any stalls with wind turbines,

Never ever put a wind turbine onto your house. The vibrations will eventually cause structural damage. In the case of a chimney it is even more dangerous. It would knock your chimney in short order.

Agree with Maddragon, in addition to which, in a built up area, there is too much turbulence in the wind for anything to work efficiently. If you want to power a few garden lights and a pond pump in a built up area from renewable energy, get yourself a good renewable energy battery and a PV. It will work much more reliably, though of course there will be less energy from it in the winter. But the amount of power you need for these items could be powered by a small PV, and they're a lot cheaper than they used to be.
