been with upc for about the past 3 years on the basic package and it does the job fine but have seen a good offer in the times today for €25 entertainment package and a free sky+ box. for some reason we can't get the digital+ package with upc in our area otherwise i'd probably stay with them. so is the cancellation process fairly straight forward and are upc like sky in the sense that they'll offer you deals to stay?? and if we do go with sky do you have to be with them a while to get all these half price sports deals???

Cancelling UPC is fairly straightforward, generally a simple phonecall will do but also send them an email as backup.

The half price sports offers are generally for Sky customers who are with them for a while and are ringing cancellations to downgrade then get offered a deal.

No harm in asking Sky customer services if you order over the phone if there's any deals on Sports (tell them you're considering switching from UPC;) )

I rang UPC to cancel 3 weeks ago. I had cancelled Sky Sports at end of May when footie season was over. My set-up is Digital Select Extra with multiroom and the 2 boxes are PVRs. They gave me a Tenner off if I stayed with them for another 12 months. I was happy enough with that as I'm now paying €30 for a package that includes ESPN & Setanta Ireland. I get all my other footie via other means;)
