I have 2 machines but only one cat5 with broadband.

I have 2 nic in one machine and one in the other.

Can I share the connection between the 2 machines with a cable?

Yes, but its easier to just buy a switch, a 5 port is about a tenner

To share your connection without a switch or a hub you need:

    1. a cross over cable (a regular ethernet cable wont do).
    2. Internet Connection Sharing enabled on the machine with internet access.
