Is it me or is it hard to get motivated to go out training at this time of year?

When so you start you winter training?

How long of a break do you need to take off after your season?

In my case yes, taking it easy for a few weeks - no structured training. Cooling down now so to speak.

2 or 3 easy spins midweek and then a club spin or sportive at the weekend if I feel like it.

Taking a full two weeks off the bike towards the end of September but I'll do some swimming and weights 2 or 3 times a week.

I'll start back doing weights again next week to deal with the steady decay of any arm muscles during the year.

You're A2/A1? I'd be very interested in following your training if you plan on logging it here.

    I am an A2 rider.

I have not been near the bike for a month and I feel that its is time to get out and start doing something. I have been to busy to get any training done at all.

I did a 1 and 5 minute at the end of the season I want to be hitting them figures at the start of next season.

I felt I had a good season rode well and was consistent even if it was my second season back after 9 years off the bike. I got a few places in a few races.

I had a good coach last season and I have to say he brought me on so much. He advice is good and the plan really keeps me on track.

Would I just log my training in here under my own heading or a special forum?

    This is a special forum;)

If you want to start a training log, this is the place. If you don't, this thread should really be in the main cycling forum (and I can move it if you wish)

In the same boat, as a bit unsure what exactly to do this winter - few commutes a week and a long spin at the weekend just to keep the legs ticking over or still do hill reps and the like.

When to really add back the intensity?

Focus solely on that or add in some cross? what to do if the snow comes along? (not a turbo fan)

I ll do some running to keep light and to add something different but really not sure what to do winter training wise
