    Hi,
Does anyone know of a really cheap cx fame and forks.
I have seen the PX Uncle John and may go for that, but want to rule out anything else.

    Cheap is the operative word.

I want a winter training bike that I can fit snow/ice proof tyres on.
I have everything else so I just want a frame and forks.

Have a look at Ridley Xbow as well. I remember seeing it last year for around the 600-650euro mark. The other cheaper option is the Kinesis Crosslight and I think Ragley as well makes a cheap cyclocross frame.

Astra 600 > 299. Fail on the cheapness count (299 is price of PX frame).
I will look at the other two, thanks.

Lumen - looks good value for frame and fork, but they dont have my size. Ideally looking for 52 or 53. But thats sort of price point for frame/fork combo that Im looking at. Nice looking bike too.

@Astra - the Kinesis Crosslight 5T looks decent. They have my sizing in CRC.

I am sure you noticed it but there is no fork with the frame, you have to buy separately, that would probably make it a bit more expensive than the PX.

Surly CrossCheck. Fits up to 45mm tyres - the snow tyres I have are 42mm and most cross bikes I've looked at tend to top out at about 35mm. Granted I didn't look vary hard though :)

i contacted planet x about the sizing and they are sized a bit different than one one would expect. 56cm frame size refers to the h2 dimensions on the geometry chart which refers to seat tube length top tube length is 538mm

at 5foot 8 the 56cm frame was recommended for me. best to give planet x a shout and see what they recommend.

another option is paul milnes cycles. he has an ebay shop and is a cross specialist he is mainly a columbus dealer and has good options on both aluminium and carbon cross frames. from reading other forums i am lead to believe the same columbus frame is rebadged as some of the more expensive branded cyclocross manufacturers i.e ridley, empella and alan
