2 hour Battery on Samsung Galaxy S2

    Hi All,

I've had my S2 around two months now. In the last week the battery has been lasting max of one - two hours - and the phone is constantly very hot.

I was thinking of doing a factory reset - but at this stage should I just take it back to the shop?

    Has anyone else seen this?

Sounds like an app is running in the background. Use the task manager to see what apps are running and close them all. Might also be worth looking at battery usage stats to see if you can see whats using the most power

Nothing I can see that is causing a drain. The display is using 50% of the battery?

    Is that normal?

Turn the screen brightness down anyways.

If you've used it a fair bit of those 2 hours it's normal. But I've watched movies on my phone and still had plenty of battery so even if the screen was on for two hours there should still be some battery left.

If you can't find any dodgy app.

1: Backup any files you want. Phone numbers should sycnh with Google. Get SMS Backup + if you want to backup SMS messages.
    2: Reset to factory defaults.
3: See if the problem persists.
4: If it does then bring it back to the shop.
5: If it doesn't then put one app back on at a time until the problem reoccurs.

I posted in another thread about how I improved my battery. Install BetterBatteryStats and check for wakelocks. It showed me that Latitude was sucking my battery life dry.
