    Came home this evening and spotted this on the side of my bin. Any idea what its for?

    Used red ones on our's about two weeks ago. Was it your recycling bin it was on? They doing spot checks on bins to see what's going into them.

    No it was on the waste bin. It wall general household waste that was in it. They managed to leave some of the waste throw on the driveway while they were at it.

    it means a new electronic tag has been fitted to your bin - no need for the sticker with your name & address. :D & I'm sure it keeps the truck updated who has paid up too.

    look under the lip of the bin you will see a round disk (bit bigger than a 5 cent coin) with 4 circles indentented into it.

    This chip may also come in handy down the road if a pay by weight system is introduced ....:pac:
