8 to 10 with that grip and doing them strictly with a dead hang. More with a neutral grip and being less strict.

Would it not make more sense to ask the OP if he does Crossfit workouts, and if so, has he done Fran? He could be sitting there thinking about the time he nailed some chick called Fran. :D

I nailed Fran. Cindy beat me many a time though. And Angie nailed my ass to the floor so bad I never went there again.

Like 12. I used to be able to do about 20 but I was auschitz escapee mode at that stage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,554 ✭✭✭steve9859

Anyone claiming they can do more than 20 with a dead hang between them (ie body weight hanging off dead straight arms) needs to post a video clip or gtfo.

    > 20 isn't hard if you don't hang (= cheating) between each one

After you read this, I guarantee you will feel sorry for me.

Imagine this. You are attracted to women, like you are now (emotionally and sexually), but they do not exist. They existed a long time ago, and no one knows what they looked like (They have a pretty good idea from the fossils, however), but they do not exist anymore. That means, not only do you know there will never be any possibility of you having sex with one, but there's not even a possibility of you ever seeing one in real life. Everyone else, however, except for a very few, are not attracted to women, they are attracted to something else entirely. So in other words, you will never find any porn anywhere on the internet, only non-sexual pictures of women. Everyone you have told about your attraction to women think it's disgusting. To relieve yourself, you get off on the non-sexual pictures of women, knowing it will never get any better.

That's what life is like to me.

I am a degree 6 Zoosexual, sexually and emotionally attracted to Tyrannosaurs and nothing else.Women don't even do it for me. I am cursed to live my life in the misery that my most powerful emotional fantasies will never be even close to coming true. Life is like hell to me. I will never know true love.

My goal is to get to 20 dead hang pullups. I reached 10 earlier this year before I got distracted and went off my program.

A pullup bar is a great investment. Buy a bag of playsand in Argos and you can do weighted pullups and pushups. You'll never need to go to a gym again.

AH answer: I prefer to do push-ups... on your ma!

But you'll have ickle chicken legs and weighted pushups are nothing compared to benching dumbells and barbells.

Have you ever tried step-ups while carrying sand. There is plenty of alternatives to barbell exercises.

It is exactly the same motion. Weight is weight.

I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about the principles of weight-lifting (I'll leave that to the miscers in here) but it is not exactly the same. Using that logic one can say a 500lb leg-press is identical to a 500lb squat.

And I know not everyone wants to be a powerlifter but certain exercises are still more effective at getting that beach body or slightly more buff look that everyone wants

I started on 23rd Feb last year to see how many I could do. I'll get back to you when i get tired.

I can do about 3 sets of 6 with a wide grip. I can do about 3 sets of 10 with an under hand grip. I'm 6' 4" 220.

same here, same height, same weight and can do same amount, maybe more like 3 sets of 15 with the under hand grip but them dead-hang ones are hard. I still reckon thats not bad for a 40 year old.

I was going well there for a few months but then I started getting mad pains on the inside of my elbows, serious pain in fact, had to lay off for ages. I've taken the summer off from the gym so I am going to get back into it hard.

    This guy is badass.

He claims to do 50 pull-ups at the end of the Kettlebell Meltdown (instead of the mountain climbers).

The Meltdown is torturous enough, without that at the end.

How do you add weight? balance that shizz on your back? For practicality, benching beats a weighted pushup.

Answering the question, I would struggle to do 5.
