Lets get that party started. I'm undecided what to do and as such won't be racing WTC branded. If I'm going long it will be a Challenge race and the decision won't be for months yet.

I may as well commit to it no point in me setting soft goals and this will be a huge ask. I will re-evaluate at the end of the year to see if i am making enough progress to warrant a sub 10 attempt.
A lot of hard work ahead and this saying captures it well,
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.:)

The evening before the Ironman Switzerland quest in 2010, a 20+ IM hardened vet said to me "Oh, a first timer? I hope you realise... Once you've done an Ironman, there's no going back". He was right. By the end of this summer, I realised there was nothing to be done except go for it again.

I know what race I'm doing, just not what I want to achieve in it. I'll commit to a time in another month or so.

Best of luck with the sub10. :)

Has to be a sub 10 - as he is counting out the tenners for the Powermeter he will be simultaneously subtracting minutes from his sub 11 time this year :D

MCOS has to improve by 8mins and the rest of us have to PB by 1hr+? you're both off the christmas card list. (btw - I didn't break 11hrs this year, so at the very least that is what I need next time :))

It's the long rides and runs that might be the issue, not the weekend away! :D

That won't be hard if you get the 33min 10k form back and go sub 9  What do you mean doubling up? Doing 2 IMs? Well, thats the plan. Posted in the log.

Have you tried buying her an expensive gift, a weekend away with the girls or complete all outstanding DIY jobs around the house:) Bribary is a great solution and that power meter is crying out to be used in an IM next year:D

He could try getting her pregnant again, from reading his report it sounds like it was baby brain that got him this years pass! :)

Had an incredulous comment along those lines the last day from O. Maybe she realises she's better off having me busy training so more gets done at home! :D There's a glimmer of light starting to peek through......

Maybe a dumb question, but this IS hunnymonster we are talking about.

Sub27, does that involve doing it twice?!

I thought so. Folks, hunnymonster is BACK! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,365 ✭✭✭hunnymonster

back is probably overstating things a little, first post baby marathon took 4:23 (with 45 mintues of that in portapotties - damn kegel exercise neglect!!!) loving being back on the bike though. Haven't really ridden since the broken-nose-IMCH incident :-)

Jaysus, a marathon done already. Savage stuff. Fair play and good luck with Tampa.
