McSwiggan's have three or four daily specials for €5.95 and the portions are quite substantial for the price.

As far as I know the following places are quite reasonable for Lunch/Dinner,
Fagans under the hotel meyrick in Eyre Sqaure,
Park house on Forster St., its reasonable for lunches but expensive later in the evenings
Garveys on Forster St., just opposite the train station
And there's always Supermacs if your feeling a bit dirty:)

The Cellar are doing a two course daily special for 9.95. Yesterdays was sweet potato soup and a roast veg wrap or cottage pie and baileys cheesecake, very nice.

Lynch's on Shop Street has really pulled up its socks. Best brekkie and lunch in town and good value too.

The Dail do a fairly good special for €8.95 but unfortunately a lot of their lunch options are €11 and €12 which is crap in this day and age.

In that corner of town, I'd be sticking my head into Garveys, An Pucan and Rabbits - don't know exact prices but I'm sure you'd find something for under a tenner. And they're close to the bus/train station.

Didn't see the Vivo yet, or the Londis. However Garvey's @ corner of Eyre Sq and Forster St is great value and lovely grub lads! Had a lovely steak there for a tenner! Barman and waitress were sooooooo nice as well!

    Hopefully try McSwiggans this week!

The Home Plate on Mary Street. Maybe a five minute walk from Eyre Square. Substantial plates of hearty food (e.g. Spag Bol) for as little as €7.50 with their 10% student discount.

+1 on the Cellar. Used to eat all my lunches in there. Ate in Fagans last week, decent grub but they need to turn on the heating.
