I want to put Alcohol into sugar crystals, can this be done?

    Method used

Boiling water and sugar, then string added followed by the alcohol (e.g. Vodka/Whiskey).

    Thanks :)

I thought the crystals would exclude any other material from themselves when they form. Other than random impurities but i'm thinking you are looking for something more uniform.

Your saying I will be left with a jar of water and whiskey at the end of the process?

Thats what i think, based on my limited knowlege anyway:)
Even if you managed to stop the alcohol from evaporating while the solution cooled and the crystals formed, i'm sure you would have sugar crystals suspended in a mix of water and whiskey.
I must point out that i may well be far, far off the mark so by all means correct me!

But thats my gut feeling on the subject.

BTW, what are you planning on doing? Sounds fun!

    shedweller, you'd have a syrup.

Or something like crystalised honey - which is kind of gooey

it's a solid that when you add water to it breaks down into carbon dioxide and ethanol

So it's not a good idea????

I was thinking of an instant Irish coffee/hot whiskey.
