Just switched to 3 yesterday from meteor. So far very disappointed very erratic connection. Using the default apn settings on androId and can't find the correct settings on 3 homepage. Can someone on 3 with all you can eat data give me the correct settings please.

    Many thanks

I'm surprised at that as I've been using a HTC desire on the three network for the past four or five months and have been delighted at it's performance. Maybe it's the phone you're using?

Samsung Galaxy S2 which I had on meteor. Was perfect with meteor where there was coverage but meteor coverage not the best around here. 3 is supposedly the best but so far slow for me.

Thanks. Still very erratic connection going from 3g to H and H+ but nothing downloads for ages. This is in Mallow so not exactly the back of beyond. Luckily only a monthly contract so not tied in for 18 months

3 has always had network problems. Some very lucky people don't seem to experience them. Seems to be caused by combination of 3s wierd network setup and certain roms. Affects certain versions of android and iphone. Toggle airplane mode to reset and your internet should come back. Problem will return next time you go 2g->3g tho (ie expect to toggle airplane mode before you can ever use internet).

Forget about any kind of support for this issue, 3 are ignoring it. If you drives you up the wall (like it did for me) then complain to Comreg and get released from contract. It's worth paying slightly more to a competitor to have internet that actually works.

Yeah. I was with 3a couple of years back but left due to billing issues and crap support. With meteor had poor coverage at home and good at work now have neither good with 3. Haves to switch again I think.

Does writing to Comreg really get you out of a contract?

    Not quite that easy

You do realise your connection is supposed to go from 3G to H to H+ and back again

Yes, but what happens is it only goes to H or H+ for a second or two (a few at most) during which time nothing downloads. If I access the market for example it can take a minute or more for the page to load (if it loads at all) where it used to take a few seconds tops with Meteor. Also Meteor would always show E or H when that connection was available, and would only show 3g on rare occasions.

Luckily I am only on a monthly Sim only contract, and within the 7 day cooling off period so should have no problem leaving.
