What is Stamp 1a? Who gets it?

I'm a Non EU citizen planning to move to Ireland for studies. I'd be taking up Accountancy course (ACCA), probably in EBC Limerick college.

I've heard there's something called stamp 1a which benefits Non EU Nationals who are pursuing an Accountancy qualification.

Any Idea who gets it? orhow can one get it?

    Thanks

    Aakash John

A large part of training for an ACCA qualification is in-office training on a fulltime basis while sitting the ACCA exams. If you obtain an apprenticeship and so are working on a full time basis, you get a Stamp 1a. If you are studying full time, you get stamp 2. They're much the same except you can work 40 hours per week with a Stamp 1a.

THere are relatively informal arrangments worked out between the accountancy bodies and the GNIB. You should talk to the ACCA in Ireland for further information.

Oh well ya calling ACCA office in Ireland would be more more appropriate. Thanks between for your response.

One thing, now when I apply for the visa? which stamp will get on my passport. I'm assuming its gonna be Stamp 2 Initially right?
