    Hi,

I did a year of an undergraduate course in DCU but dropped out after my first year. I took a year out last year as I was too late to apply to the CAO for another course. I have now been offered a level 8 course which I want to take but I have a feeling my fees are going to be very expensive. Am I entitled to any grant for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year and will it really end up costing me 7,000 to get into the college without even paying for accommodation? Also will I be entitled to any tax relief on my tuition fees ? I have a feeling I will need to take a few years out until I can reapply for my grant. If anyone could give me any info that would be great.

I am fairly sure that you would only have to pay fees for year 1 and could become eligible for a grant again after year 1. Check this with the college you have been accepted to.

Ring the relevant tax office (on here) to check about tax relief

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If your last course was below level 8 you should get full fees and grant.
