I was wondering where would be the best place to exchange Euros for Sterling?

I need £2,000 in cash and was wondering would it be cheaper to exchange it in Ireland or wait to do it over in the UK?

Also which banks/bureau de change do the best exchange rates?

Here are the current exchange rates according to Xe.com:

    1 GBP = 1.13491 EUR
    1 EUR = 0.881130 GBP

    £2,000.00 = €2,269.81

Have you a UK bank account? If so, I could run with currencyfair.

if its cash you want, I can't assist

I checked BOI, AIB, TSB & Ulster Bank and Ulster Bank had the best exchange rate.

I paid €2,362 (not including commission) to buy £2,000 sterling.

    Seems abit steep to me.
