I've just gotten a student travelcard and wish to now purchase a seasonal/timebased ticket...
Is it true for students that the monthly ticket has to be bought at the beginning of the month? I know it's this way with the adult ticket but is it the same for students?
How about the weekly one, can I buy one tomorrow to last me until next Tuesday?

Afair from years ago when i was buying weekly tickets for most weekly and monthly tickets the week started monday morning at midnight and the month started on the 1st of the month at midnight. Dublin Bus Student tickets nowadays are almost all for 5/7/30 consecutive days so i presume once you use the ticket for the first time it starts the clock. the bus and rail monthly ticket is per calender month.

Irish Rail still use the older system where monthly tickets are valid for a calender month and weekly tickets are valid from sunday to saturday.

The 5/30 day bus only tickets are non-consecutive.
