    hey

I applied for my driving test there last week but in the mean time dad's car is after getting a wee tiny crack on the windscreen.. it's only a little tiny dot but it's sitting right in front of the drivers seat - it doesn't impeded your view of the road at all because it's so small but it's impossible to miss at the same time...

Will I be let do the test with this crack or will we have to get it fixed before the test...

like I said it's only a tiny crack and doesn't affect your view of the road whatsoever but will the tester have a problem with it...

I'll try and get a picture if ye think ye need to see it but it's really just a tiny mark and hasn't spread at all

anyway - does anyone know will I have a problem with the tester

Why not get it repaired, it should cost only about €50, check your insuance for windscreen cover.

the obvious thing to do I know but my dad is the ultimate man for "yeah I'll do it some of the days" and 2 months later it's still not done :o :pac:

have my name down for a cancellation as well so if I got a test at short notice should I just turn it down because the tester isn't going to let me do the test anyways...

Give us a pic of it - easier to evaluate that way :)

I'd say just get it repaired if you have time. Often small chips/cracks can get bigger if you go over bumps, etc., so the usual advice is to get it fixed straight away.

From looking at the autoglass ads on the TV, it should be a simple enough job to fix.

Having said that, I doubt your test would be cancelled because of it, but get it fixed anyway, just so it won't get worse!

Would recommend you get it fixed! I had a very small crack on my windscreen caused by loose chippings - after a couple of days & driving around bumpy areas it spread nearly across the windscreen - wouldnt have been good for it to have done this during my test!

Most of the windscreen repairers do a callout/home service, why not give them a call, it's only going to get worse.

it's dad's car so I don't give a ****e about if it gets bigger tbh - just as long as I get to do my test before it gets bigger... :pac:

he's on for getting it fixed anyways so - just wasn't sure if it might have been a problem if he kept putting it off....
