    Hi

Just looking for a few ideas - have a 01 renault clio (my first car) which Ive had for two years, hasnt really given me any much trouble apart from the usual (clutch went once). Would you drive this car in to the ground or get a new car now might get a grand for the clio if I sold it now...

Looking at a mazda 5 possibly or an opel vectra (from the north)..

    Thanks
    jdq

Depends on my needs and finances, if the car suits your current needs I would hold on to it. There is the hassle of the annual NCT but if you know your car is reliable and expect it to pass you would be as well to drive it in to the ground. There's little point in selling the car now for say €1000 and spending €5000 on another car that will depreciate at a rate of over €1000 a year, doesn't make sense if your needs are the same and your current car suits.

    Cheers,

The clio does the job alright, I generally only drive a few miles a day in and out of work, but my role is changing and I'm going to be on the road a lot more.. The clio will probably never stop!

Keep the Clio. I'm guessing if its your first car, you'll be building up your NCB with the insurance. Bigger engine or more sporty will increase premiums, vastly.
Getting something else might open up a whole can of worms, with regard to parts needing replacing.
Stick with what you know until its no longer economical to keep it on the road. That's what I'd do.

Have the full 5 years so not too worried about that, thanks though, makes sense!
