Somewhere close to Croker the atmosphere will be electric before the game and then clear out just before it starts giving you a choice of seats to watch the match

There is a rumour going around that the Gardaí are going to try to encourage those who do not have match tickets to avoid the area around Croke Park before the match to reduce congestion.

Good luck with that is all I'll say as most patrons' best opportunity to get the "golden ticket" is in the environs of the ground on the day!

exactly for the hurling final, there was loads of people selling/swapping tickets near croker

I´d say Sinnots beside Stephen´s Green. I used to watch soccer matches in there, they have about 6 huge screens. pubs around croke park will be very messy and difficult to get a drink in.

I recommend the Hogan Stand across from Gills. That's were I'll be anyway. I'mm 99% sure I have a ticket but a few of our crew won't and we'll all be there - as usual.

Live Super Sunday - Sky Sports 1

I wouldn't bank on any of the usual spots synotts, fitzsimmons or doyles not showing premiership for their usual crowd......unless you confirmed it in advance

I've been caught out before. Horseracing and soccer on in a pub with 8 tvs and had to ask them to put on the AI hurling final a couple of years back! You'd be surprised how many people have no interest. Am hoping to go out somewhere North County. Maybe Skerries. Anyone got any good suggestions. Joe Mays and Nealons where good during 6 nations.
Tempted to go to Meaghers for the buzz but think it might be bananas

Murrays in Lusk should have a good atmosphere if you're heading North County.

Gills for pre and post match atmosphere, stay away from the kips on the summerhill road, in town O'Neills would be a good spot and not a bad pint either!

After the match, The Grave Diggers is the place to be, especially if it's any way warm and sunny.

I like the Ivy House meself for a pre-match scoop. Might be worth being there if you don't have a ticket.

The Millmount House or Carthys (Ivy House) Bar. There's always a chance of a spare ticket around there as well.

Oi oi the Bridge Tavern is a good spot before the game and the Clonliffe is a good after match spot as long as you like mixing with Dubs in both establishments :D

For the semi final, I went to The Oval on Abbey Street, and would really reccomend it to watch a match. Enough seats to sit down, and the commentary was up nice and loud. There was a great atmosphere, and a rake of Dub supporters in there. Its owned by Charlie Chawke, and his pubs are always good for sporting occasions. Its also close enough to pick up the atmoshere in The Gresham and the likes, pre match. Id stay away from Dorset street, and surrounding areas, as its going to be too messy!

Another alternative is to go to Jurys in Croke Park really early on Sunday morning, before they put up the ticket barriers. You'll get a great atmosphere, and the screens are great to watch matches on.

Can anyone tell me if they know anywhere is Milan or Bergamo that would be showing the match on Sunday

    Regards

was going to head to the big tree, but see there's 2 differing opinions on this thread
some people say avoid drumcondra it'll be too messy and there'll be no seats
some say it's the best spot for atmosphere (which is what I was thinking) and there'll be loads of seats there once the crowds have left and gone to the match?
If people could post which it is from experience that'd be great, thanks.

There will be far more dubs without tickets for this game that their would be for the likes of a leinster final, so dont expect those bars to empty out because it wont happen.

Yeah, was thinking that. Thanks for confirming.
I suppose it's going to be tricky all over Dublin to get a seat in a pub for the match!

Well location dependent i would think. Drumcondra and surrounds will be extreme though

Not idea, but here are a few from Google suggestions

    Milan.

    Bergamo

Best to ring about first, and avoid those that are advertising soccer.

Edit...just saw that there is a post about watching the match off foreign like. Might be best to ask there.

Well, I'm thinking the oak on dame st (though they show eng soccer on their screens mostly and man utd v chelsea on today), the oval someone mentioned you might get seats sounds good.
    City centre location.
