Replacing Gas Fireplace with Solid Fuel Stove

I am looking for advice on replacing a built in gas fire with a solid fuel burning stove. The gas fire runs off the mains supply and was previously an ordinary fireplace with back boiler which has since been removed. I presume it is not a big deal to have the mains supply switched off to the existing fireplace and surely cannot be that costly. As regards to the stove I have a stove in mind to purchase but I am not sure what other work will be necessary to fit it. Any advice would be great thanks.
