it was 2007 when we were there and stayed in Le Hameau De Flaine - loved the place - kids werent keen on the ski school but apart from that it was grand

I spent 7 days in Flaine last January, stayed in the UCPA too. THe accomodation is grand, rooms are warm and clean and you get a decent lunch and dinner buffet thrown in too. There's a bar in the building and a few pubs and restaraunts not far away either. THe snow was terrible when I was there, unseasonably warm so it was all ice but the mountain is really nice, stunning views of Mt. Blanc out the back, very beginner friendly but there's also some very nice intermediate/advanced runs too. The terrain park was closed so can't comment on that. If you get the snow it looks like a lot of fun off piste, but it's a karst region so there's quite a lot of holes to fall into some of which are marked but some aren't. If you get the massif pass you can ski/board to several neighbouring resorts too, I didn't avail of this even though I had the pass because the poor snow conditions.

Great resort with plenty to do and close to the airport so the transfer is quick.

Normally has reliable snow and it is a reasonably priced resort!
