So much for RTE journalistic research.

Good for him. The Media have gotten away for far too long with their propaganda and innuendos, without doing hardly any reasearch to back up their stories! Serves them right!!

Really... what about those who were clinically dead for several minutes and came back to life!

Clinical death is when the heart stops. It can be reversed. That's why people are trained in CPR instead of trained in how to pray for a miracle.

There are cases where some people were dead for several days.

Anyhow, this thread is going OT thanks to MrP.

Then they weren't actually dead, just misdiagnosed.

Actually it doesn't - but hey, it's nice to have the atheists misrepresenting science for a change instead of misrepresenting Christianity.

Ah for a second there I thought you had said "for a change instead of Christians misrepresenting science." My heart did a little flutter. Oh well :P

I know of 2 priests personally who have been accused. One from sligo, accused, was removed from parish and could not practice as a priest, reported to the Gards.. Went to court and the accuser said it was not true, she needed Money and the priest did not want to pay, basically blackmail. (--and some priests when threatened do pay--) another priest also accused, even when the woman has now changed her story saying that it was not meant to be malicous, still going in the courts.

Lets face it, there were serious crimes by some priests, but there have also been many false allegations, never mind the innocent Nun who was jailed in ireland over an allegation of rape that turned out to have never happened after the alleged victim confessed.

We need justice, and part of our justice system is that you are innocent until proven guilty, howerer irish priests are being defacto treated as guilty upon any accusation, and the thread proofs one case......

but it seems this priest did not forgive them and decided to sue. I would not of sued. I would of done the Christian community more justice that way and practiced humility.

Great he is cleared, shame he took revenge.

Totally agree... and many Priests have not sued their accusers and have forgiven them and moved on....

BUT there is a big difference between a false accusation of a person and that of the States National Broadcaster who hunted out someone in Africa and reported an accusation on state television without proof.

So I say let the Priest sue RTE, lets face it they were not reporting a coverup, they were reporting an allegation as a quasi fact.

I don't think this priest is doing it for revenge, more like teaching them a lesson - thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor!!!
