    Hi,

I'm looking to get quotes for a windows for a new house build. We have already priced (mod edit) a well known firm from the south of Ireland, but does anyone know of any other reasonable sellers that have a good reputation?

    Thanks

Should posts like this not just be moved to prices/costs so that supplier names can be mentioned?

    no

'recommendations' can only be PM'ed as its is obviously valuing one product over another.

even in the prices forum, it is frowned upon to recommend one product over another.... ie acme A is much better than acme B.

company names can be posted as a reference.

Could people requesting info post their location, no point getting details of a supplier in louth if your in kerry.

    why not?

the more choice and quotes the better.

A significant protion of windows being installed these days come from Europe... so inter-ireland isnt a big stretch.

unless of course you are from a supplier and you dont want to quote for jobs which are 'too far away' ?

I got quoted a good price for 'Duraflex' windows with a local supplier. (Meath area) I viewed a house on Sat with these windows and I thought the white looked a bit cheap looking. We may go with cream colour but had anyone purchased these windows for their house? I was hoping to get some opinions or reviews on them before going ahead.
    Thanks all

Have had some dealings with a window company supplying Lithuanian windows, pretty close to a passive standard which have performed well in airtighness tests. PM me for details. The well known South East company with a mixed reputation has recently being performing excellently in airtighness tests also and their in-line slider is also quite good.

I have dealt with Grady Joinery in Maynooth and I was pleased with them, were a bit more expensive than other suppliers but the quality and finish I am happy with

The "well known company in the South of Ireland" is the one I used last year with some trepidation I might add, but I am glad my builder persuaded me.

My father was in the window business for 30 years and gave me great advice. From the moment the consultant came on site and answered all of my questions in his stride i was confident with my choice.

They delivered on-time, all perfect, and after 1 week they did a courtesy call and sent a chap out to change a window handle which was gold instead of chrome but very hard to spot. He checked all the windows and doors throughout.

That was 18 months ago and we've been delighted with the performance of the product, cream PVC BTW.

    Hi,
We would like to replace all the double glazing in our house. its around 20 years old and starting to have a few problems. We are based in Cork and looking for recommendations. I have been in touch with Sky windows and they seem very keen for the business but I can't find any reviews on them. Has anyone used them?

If you have used someone and were happy with service/quality, could you give me a recommendation?
    Thanks
