    hello all,
newbie here to mounting a sat dish
im handy enough with tools but id just like some info here before i attempt this
whats the best way to go about this, do i need to chip the pebble dash off where the bracket will be on the wall or is it safe enough to hold the bracket to the wall and mark the holes without removing pebbledash in that area
    thanks

I have pebble dash and what I did was chip away the stones where the bolts would enter the concrete but nothing beyond that. When I tightened the bracket/plate against the wall there was some slight crunching, it fits tightly enough.

cheers mike thanks for the info and pic, yeh i was wondering cause when you tighten the bracket in, im afraid not been flush with the wall.

If any of the pebble is sitting particularly proud it would do no harm to chip it off. The elevation/azimuth markings are based on the bracket being mounted flush. But so long as the bracket is stable when the bolts are tightened up, you should be ok.

My dish is installed on pebble dash - didn't really think about it too much before hand to be honest. Anyway circa 7 years in, there's been no problems with the bracket moving as far as I can tell. Having said that, it was a DIY install, so probably better to go on pro advice.

Also mounted on pebbledash - just make sure the bolts are long enough and are not compromised by standing a little proud of the solid wall
