The most you can go up in 1 year is 2.0 (20 x 0.1's) - so you're nearly there:).

I am sure it is 2.0 aswell but I think that the handicap secretary can revise handicaps once a year also, in my case I started the year at 20.0 and haven't scored over 30 pts in a competition yet so I reckon I should be 24.0 or somethign close to that!

Afaik as it stands at the moment there is no limit as to the number of .1's you can get, but the most you can increase in handicap is 2.0.
So in your case the most you can go to is 14.7.
www.congu.com is the offical website of the handicap system, if you want to explore it some more.

This is correct. Your handicap can increase a maximum of 2 full shots from your start-of-year position. However this does not mean you can only get 20 0.1s as you can get cut then start accumulating again. Unbelievably I am aware of one case where the person has accumulated over ... Wait for it ... 170 0.1s in one year!

    W ... T ... F ... ???????

Apparently, this seemingly impossible feat included the individual playing twice in one day on over 30 occasions. I mean, seriously, get a life.

FFS that's insane, even more unbelievable is that there was a motion in front of the GUI AGM last year to restrict the amount of .1's to a maximum of 20 in any given year and it was not carried.

Yes, defeated 13-12. Unbelievable. People I've spoken with put it down to business revenue ... Clubs make a lot of money from people playing for 0.1s. Sad but true.
