I'll be getting a Saorview approved tv soon, but have no idea how to set up Saorview. Can someone please guide me through it? :D

saor view is over rated . you dont need to set it up just throw in an ariel and the tv will do all the work for you .

you only get 8 channels with saor view

    rte 1
    rte 2
    rte 2 hd
    tv3
    tg4
    3e
    rte news now
    rte junior
    and basic irish radio stations

picture quality is amasing though . no problems with saor view . the saor view tvs are good value but dont buy the box as there massively expensive (90 euro ) and dont offer many channels.

if youre buying a new tv get saorview well worth the investment .

He does need to connect an aerial and tune the TV as per the TV's manual.

Its a Panasonic Plasma tv 50 Inch in link below. If i had known the 1 underneath is Saorview approved I would have gone for that. So what is the difference between the tv thnats Saorview approved and the other one that isnt lol.

The Saorview certified tv is guaranteed to work with all features of the Saorview service, present & future & to support OTA updates.

The Panasonic tv you have should display the channels (& Freeview HD too, if you can receive UK transmissions). There may be problems with text & interactive features & the aforementioned updates.

There are lots of threads dealing with Panasonics on this forum, mainly uncomplimentary.....

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, I only have a sky dish on my roof if I wanted to get Saorview do I need to put another outdoor aieral on the roof? I was thinking of getting it connected in the conservatory and also the TV I have is about 6 years old.

you will need an aerial. (if the tv is 6 years old you will also need a set top box)

an aerial in the attic may suffice.
    Depending on your location.
