Singer with rhythm guitar required to front newly formed covers band in the South East

Styles vary from 60’s to present "classic rock" tunes.
Styles: Kinks/Who/Police/Bowie/REM etc. up to present. You get the jist, it’s a covers band;)

Intention is to gig at least twice a week, more if it’s hopefully out there.

No beginners as hope to be on the road asap so rehearsal time is NOT "teaching" time.

3 existing members are Waterford based, mid 30's, but basically will consider anyone who meets the above criteria.

What is your current line-up? Is it essential that the singer is a rhythm guitarist also?

Where will you be practicing and when do you anticipate gigging? Can I sing falsetto?

    Thanks

    Presently have Guitar/Bass/Drums.
It is preferrable that Rhythm guitar has vocals too. Trying to keep this to 4 piece max, if at all possible. Enough ability to "fill" a song on rhythm guitar, but the vocals are the main requirement.

Presently practice west Waterford (Dungarvan) but when line up complete, depending on area, may look elsewhere. Anticipate to be gigging in the next couple of months. NOT the intention to just jam for the fun, goal is to be out making money asap. So whenever the set is competent, we will be gigging.

Samples.. No, not yet as the backbone of the band is just together (but experienced), trying to define the probable setlist.
Will go down that route when singer is on board and be worth doing it then..

ooh sorry it would have been great.
just notice now you're based in Waterford....
    that would be
quite out of the reach for me,for come to rehearse...
    I m in dublin.

    hope you find the singer

    Bumping this.

Have had a bit of interest but no suitable singer found yet.:(
If you think you have the ability to front a professional covers band, and can play a bit of rhythm guitar too, feel free to respond.
As soon as songs ready, hope to be gigging a couple of times a week at least.

Any takers with interest out there?

As said, have tried a few "singers" but need someone who can really sing and play enough rhythm guitar to pass and fill a song out.

Howdy! I'm 32, based around Gorey/Enniscorthy, been gigging for 17+ years, playing guitar for 23 years. Been in bands on and off but most of the last decade have been doing solo/duo stuff.

Issue: Full time "real" job at the moment in Wicklow, and two small kids - willing to gig anywhere but can't see myself rehearsing any further away than New Ross on a regular basis.

If ye are interested let me know. Here's a vid I did a few years back - the song is god awful but anyhow.....

    Mark,
Cheers for the interest to reply.
The other members are west waterford based so can't imagine us all trekking to The Ross to rehearse:cool:
As stated above, rehearsals "should be" only for a number of weeks until a set is in place and after that only when needed, very occasionally, for new material. Not an original band so makes it easier, in theory:D, to get this on the road.
There has been some "local" interest but yet no one of a suitable standard, and trust me, that bar is not too high;). We want this project to be as professional as possible and if the members can't do it in rehearsal, they won't do it at a gig.
If you, or anyone else out there for that matter, is interested in taking this to the next stage, let me know.

No worries! Shame about that, but think it's a bit far to go even just for the few weeks! Best of luck with it!!
