I've got a scanner-printer and usb, but no software to install it. What can I do?

    Hi all
    The house I am currently renting had been used for four years by some medical students from the middle east who left a lot behind, most importantly three printer-scanners.

    0ne is a canon "MP220" and while it switches on and seems to function perfectly, I haven't been able to connect it to my computer with success - the pc fails to find drivers etc etc.

    The other is an Epson Stylus DX400 in which the scanner glass is broken, could this still be used as a printer?

    Is there anything I can do? It would save me a lot of money to use this printer as I am currently on teaching practice and need to do a whole lot of printing and photocopying, which sends me all over Dublin town on my bicycle in rain and hail seeking internet cafés where I have to pay through the nose.
