Cleaning an internal stone wall

    Hi

We are just in the process of exposing an internal stone wall. have just removed the plaster and are in the process of cleaning up the pointing etc.

I am just looking for advice on how to 'bring up' the stone - after removing all the plaster it is still a little dull looking. We are going to wire brush the remaining bits of debris off the stone but is there anything I can use after this. I have heard the sandblasting and diluted acid techniques but I am a bit wary of them for different reasons.

Is there any other way to enhance the stone work and then seal the wall once completed.

    Thanks a lot.

Polybond or similar will seal and enhance the colour, test on a small area first.

stay clear of sand blasting, would destroy it, ,yes can brush but be carefull not over do and mark too much, if some blaster not coming off can be helped break down using adid again try small sample, to enhance finish, yes sealer like suggested would help but think best boild linseed oil lightly applied, again try small sample to ensure effect is what yu desire

We stock several lithofin products that will seal and enhance your wall in our company. We use them on all our granite counters, natural stone tiles, baths, shower trays, external cladding etc. If you need some pm me and i'll get you a price
