Acoustic guitars on Ryanair.

Hi all, Im heading on a Ryanair flight this weekend, I have only declared that I'm bringing hand luggage only but now I will try to take my acoustic guitar. Does anyone know if I tell them in advance or can I just bring it and pay for the extra luggage on the day? thanks

Seems like you need to purchase an extra seat for the guitar.

Thanks Mike...can you put it in the hold as "fragile" luggage? surely they have loads of space there. Using a seat for a guitar is a bit excessive really...

would you chance an acoustic in the hold without a hard case! do they do FRAGILE luggage?
