Renewable Energy Final Year Project

Hello All, I'm in final year of Civil Eng. and have to do a final year project and I have no real ideas as to what to do! I would like to do something relating to sustainability or renewable energy as i'm interested in this topic Any help with ideas is greatly appreciated! Cheers!

How about looking into the carbon footprint of renewable technologies?

Between manufacture and transport (esp to Ireland). I'm not sure if this is taken into account when figures are given for the reduction in CO2 emmissions for using a renewable technology.
