hey there, new to the whole htpc thing i am looking around online I want to build a basic box as cheap as possible, I have looked into standalone boxes but a cheap system with xbmc is coming up trumps every time for me.

will probabaly install windows 7 or xbmc live if it is friendly with my hardware. the plan is also to boot from usb and have no internal drives if possible hence using the live version whats the minimum itx board i should be looking at for 1080p here?

for 130 sterling i can get my hands on a mini itx board with hdmi and an ion chipset with a gig or 2 of ram , would this be adequate for 1080p? and what size of a psu would i need to run this reliably?

on another hand im thinking along the lines of why not pick up an apple tv2 and jb it for xbmc, it would probabaly suit my needs as a 1080p system was only really future proofing because my current tv in the living room is only 720p, how does the apple tv perform with mkv files?

any other boxes that could be recommended to me? I really like xbmc's expandability to web services like youtube and others easily addable to it, also looked at the roku box but seems it is only good for web content and not great for streaming local stuff which would be the boxes main use.

    cheers for the input.
    sean
