Lets say I was to carry out work for an unnamed hotel.

Now on completion of this work while will trying to receive payment for such work the unnamed hotel was to offer me payment by asking me to enter their Lost and found (let behind from customers) area and pick out items to the value of my work.
They stated that all items were there over 30 days and they could use them as payment in such a way if they wanted to.

Question 1. Can they really do this?
Question 2. What if I was to take this option? would I then be allowed to resell some of these items (legally)

    Thanks
