for the last 2 years Ive eaten as much as I could and done GOMAD over the winter and reduced carbs steadily from around mid march. Ive gone from about 14 stone 7 to about 12 stone 9 by july.
That said Ive a very active job and Im on my feet all day so it wouldnt be that different to being on a treadmill for 8hours a day.

I don't see any reason why it would be "ludicrous" to try and lose weight during the winter.

Personally, I find it easier to lose weight and cut the crap out of my diet during the winter. This is mainly because I have a routine during the winter months. I have school everyday and less free time, so I am less likely to be out with my friends and go on a binge.

If you want to lose weight, there's no better time to start than right now. Don't keep putting it off, just do it.

If you lose the weight now, you'll look better at the start of summer for the beach and holidays...

OP it really depends on what your goals are, e.g do you also play sport & want to improve? How much weight you want/have to lose, will your diet/lifestyle choice be sustainable for that long & be disciplined enough to stick to it for 9-10 months!

You need to post up some stats before you can get proper advice! Or have I missed something?
