Right I'm off to study in the UK this year and I was wondering if anyone knows a decent shipping company based in Ireland. The main things I need it for are clothes, a PC and a few other bits and pieces. There are plenty of student oriented shipping companies in the UK but the only Irish one i've found quoted me €200 for a medium sized box.......which is a pile of ****.

I've been shipping stuff back home to Ireland the past few weeks, and I can't get over how cheap it is. The company is called parcel2ship.co.uk. The reason they're able to offer it so cheap is because of their bulk-buying powers with the main courier companies (DHL etc).

I know they're not based in Ireland, but it's worth checking if you can use them for orders originating from Ireland.

By the way, I've shipped boxes weighing around 28 kilograms from UK to Ireland and it only cost 23.00 GBP overall.

Word of warning - make sure you use the official website, parcel2ship.co.uk, and not any other variation, as there are a few scam sites impersonating them, which is mentioned on the FAQ section of their website.

Edit - actually, check this one out too; http://www.citypostparcel.ie/?kw=courier%20ireland&gclid=CLH79s2ZhKsCFQcNtAodzyOSzg

Moved to Online Buying & Auctions, as they are quite experienced in all matters related to postage & shipping.
