Most people now days see him as a right wing gun toting nutter. But he was in some amazing films.Just finished watching him in 55 days in Peking.Even brought a tear to my eye at the end ,were he offers his hand to the chinese orphan.(or else it could be the six shorts I had after dinner...Schwarzwald teufel rules!!)
A lot of people say he can't act for nuts, but he did have screen presence, and was in some great films films.Any time he's on the TV,I usually end up sitting down and watching him.

El Cid, Ben Hur, Major Dundee, Planet of the Ape,The Omega Man.and one of my favourites The War Lord. Damn ,he even played Moses.Like him or hate him , he left some legacy.

He was just another hack from the same school as Ronald Regan and John Wayne tbh
