    Hi All

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I've a bit of a strange enquiry, but was talkin to family last night about a murder case in my locality years ago (when I was a child), and a few of us had different versions of the story.... my question is do you know where online I could find any old newspaper articles on the case, I know that I can probably go to my local library, but just thought if there was somewhere online to find the info

    Thanks in advance

    Neesie

The Irish Times I believe do a good archive section.
(But its a possible paywall function)

I'll power up the auld Google machine and when she's up and running you hop on her and give it a whirl, see if you can't pull something out of the interweb with what we like to call 'a search'.

Many newspapers have an online archive system where you can search and view old newspaper articles

Google is also a good place to start, use the townland and the word 'murder' and see what shows up.

Also if you were able to track down some of the local guards (probably now retired) and see if any could enlighten you on it!

If someone was tried for it you could read the court reports. If you need help accessing them give me a shout.

I wouldnt like to go that far, we were just interested to find out the facts, but wouldnt like to dredge it up again, it was 20 odd years ago now, and pretty gruelling as far as we know

Ah thats good, do you have that persons name and a date? Give me those and any other details and I will take a look for you, I have access to databases. You can PM me them if you want rather than put them up here if that suits you better.

Could do that Anonoboy, but I know what it was like last night with all the family adding legs and arms onto the story.... imagine what it'd be like in the local!
