Cheapest I can find on their own website is €55 - pretty damn expensive

anybody know if any online sites offer anything lower?

You might tell me I'm seeing life through Tiger tinted glasses, but I'd regard €55 as a damn fair price for a top golf course.

There is a price per head whereby developing and maintaining a top class facility isn't worthwhile, and imagine €55 isn't far off that mark.

Couldnt agree more. I think €55 is very fair. If you think what 25 gets you then 55 aint bad. Its no Mount Juliet which is going for 70 so I think its well placed. Im a member out there myself and its in real good shape at the moment.

yes some of the top clubs such as European,MJ,Adare Manor etc are dear but i don't rate either course near those standards.
for eg last week i know a few lads who got The Heritage for €14 each, now that's value
thh i wouldn't put anyone off playing Carton(Monty esp),it's defo worth playing just not mad about it myself

I know it's not what you asked, but it's definitely worth €55. IMHO, very challenging (& infuriating), but ultimately very enjoyable.

Thats not fair. I'm a 18 handicap and played terrible around the Monty the one time I played it, but loved every minute. Despite being in about 15 bunkers

€55 quid is a fair price, head out an hour or 2 early and use the range and practice area ( get plenty of practice in the bunkers ).

Back on topic I suppose Ive never seen it any cheaper than 55

Probably also worth noting that you get free use (i.e. free balls) of the practice area ... which you will definitely want to avail of!

played it twice, used to be 150 a round.

They should has a sign on the first tee, "no dogs or hackers"

Bland track IMO. Played a few times but still can't remember any interesting holes until the 17th and 18th - which are nice. That being said, it's in very good nick, a stern test and does have excellent greens. Obv very nice facilities too so no issue with the price.

55 is a great deal imo....although having played both courses out there a number of time I would have to agree that the Monty course its a very difficult test. I'm guessing he'd struggle to get around his own course the way he's playing at the moment and might want to redesign a few holes!!:)
